This house was completely stripped back to the bare framework as it had been unsimpathetically maintained previousily which had lead to further issues. WIth the tiles off, the roof timbers were subject to extensive traditional oak frame repairs to regain structural integrirty. The main rear wall was stripped of all brickwork with referenfce to where each brick was taken from and the oak frame was repairs and rebuilt to prevent collapse. The brickwork was then reinstated with laboratory test mortar to ensure it was of simialr composition to original. No stone was left unturned with this project, the downstairs floor was excavated to gain extra head height downstairs while upstairs ceiling height was increaseed in some rooms. All floors upstairs were refurbished using historic methods or replaced with reclaimed oak floor boards from europe. ALsmosy every room had Custom, joinery grade furnite insntalled to take advatged of the awkwardly shaped area that are a characterists of a house like this. All new kitchen, bathrooms, uility and windows were installed. The property also benefitted from all new foul and rain water drains to ensure everything was working as it should be and as much ground water is taken away from the building to prevent dampness inside.
With the success of the first proeject the client asked us to convert an outbuilding that was original a cow and animal shed for the farm hundreds of years ago. This project is currently underway and further infomation will be added at comlpletion.
